DNA Facility

The DNA Facility’s team of dedicated experts is committed to providing researchers with the tools, assistance and knowledge needed to achieve research goals for genomics and molecular biology research projects. The Facility turns cells, tissues, DNA or RNA into custom data sets that facilitate visualization of specific sequences, the assembly of whole genomes or epigenomes, the evaluation of transcriptomes or the identification of organisms in a diverse population through metagenomic applications.

Customer Support

The DNA Facility offers extensive customer support while working to meet the unique requirements of each project. Facility staff members each have over two decades of experience with DNA, RNA or genomics, and use this knowledge to deliver tailored services and invaluable guidance that enhances research project success rates.

Service Spotlight

Sanger Sequencing

A variety of options are available for Sanger sequencing.  The Full-Service option includes reprocessing to optimize reaction conditions for improved sequence length or quality (ie BigDye chemistry, changing thermocycling conditions, changing primers, etc).  The no-redo option provides a cost effective alternative for researchers who only require a single run.  Clients with large numbers of samples and well characterized templates can take advantage of bulk pricing in 96-well format through the high throughput option.

Service Spotlight

Metagenomics

We provide a number of options for metagenomic library preparation, including shotgun metagenomic and shotgun metatranscriptomic sequencing as well as traditional 16S/18S/ITS amplicon sequencing for examination of the genetic diversity of microbial communities. Typical libraries are compatible with NovaSeq 6000 and MiSeq instrumentation. Additional options are available for Oxford Nanopore GridION sequencing.
